How much does it cost for forklift training?
Forklift Training in NY (West Babylon, Long Island) is a “hands on” class for new and experienced drivers. Classes are held the first and third Thursday each month. The cost for new drivers is $350 and experienced drivers $175. You will leave with the full knowledge of how to safely driver a sitdown forklift and a complete understanding of the safety issues. Each student will receive their certification and wallet sized card. OSHA requires you to be observed on the equipment you will be operating in the workplace so your employer will want to make sure you can safely operate the vehicle and will conduct an evaluation once you return to the workplace, or when you start a new job. Don’t worry! If you apply everything you learn from class you will pass with flying colors.
Experienced drivers may wish to take our online classes for $79. You can print out a certificate and wallet sized card from any printer.
If you are training a large group, you may wish to consider our safety training kits which are available for many heavy equipment models. If you are looking to train a group of four or more on the sit down forklift, rates start at $199 per person.
Does OSHA provide a list of topics to include in my training program?
Yes. The standard provides a list of training topics; however, the employer may exclude those topics which are not relevant to safe operation at the employee’s work location.
Is testing required?
No. The standard does not specifically require testing; however, some method of
evaluation is necessary.
What type of records or documentation must I keep?
The OSHA standard requires that the employer certify that each operator has received
the training and has been evaluated. The written certification record must include the
name of the operator, the date of the training, the date of the evaluation, and the identify
of the person(s) performing the training or evaluation.
Can I drive a forklift without a Licence?
